About the author
Ian Worthington has worked on large projects in the travel and tourism industry for more years than he cares to remember. He specializes in high-speed, high-volume, business-critical transaction processing systems where the cost of an outage can be confused with international telephone numbers, as well as communications protocols, and data analysis.
He has installed, migrated, and supported such systems, and trained the employees thereof, on five continents.
His customers have included IBM (on three different continents), British Airways, American Express, SNCF, and Associates Bancorp.
He holds a BSc in Applied Physics and an MSc in Database and Information Science, both from the University of London. British by birth, he resides in Spain.
